◆ The Feature

A special Toronto screening of Horace Ové's Pressure (1975), the landmark first British feature directed by a Black director. Set in 1970s London, the film follows Tony, a young Black British man caught between the expectations of his Caribbean family and the racism, unemployment and social pressures surrounding him. A defining work of Black British cinema, it remains a powerful portrait of identity, belonging and a generation demanding to be seen and heard. Presented by CaribbeanTales as part of the Windrush International Caribbean Film Festival.
